Hi AI fam, Justin Novak here, your favorite AI guy.

In this edition we’re going to cover:

Let’s dive in!

🏠 Martha Stewart just launched an AI for your home

Homeowners juggle a scattered mess of information: property records, maintenance schedules, warranty documents, etc. Martha plans to combine all of this into one AI assistant that helps manage your house. I’m curious…would you use this? Source.

🤯 Anthropic's AI just broke out of its cage, again

Anthropic disclosed on July 30 that its AI models breached three different organizations during cybersecurity tests. The models were supposed to be locked in sealed testing environments with no internet access. Source.

🚨 The AI fund that returned 439% just got eaten alive by its own leverage

Leopold Aschenbrenner's Situational Awareness hedge fund was the hottest ticket in AI investing, up 439% in 2026 by going all-in on AI infrastructure stocks, while shorting software companies like Adobe. Then this weeks black swan event ended their rally” AI infrastructure stocks cratered, the software shorts moved against them, and Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and Bank of America issued margin calls on 4x leveraged positions. On July 30, Ken Griffin's Citadel scooped up the entire public equity portfolio at distressed prices. Source.

📉 OpenAI just slashed its AI prices by 80%

On July 30, OpenAI cut the price of GPT-5.6 Luna by 80%. Applications that were borderline too expensive to build last month are now viable: customer support bots, content pipelines, data analysis workflows, etc. If you've been sitting on an AI project because the API costs didn't work, it’s time to pull it off the shelf. 📈 Microsoft made $450 billion in a single day

Microsoft stock surged 15.5% on Thursday, adding roughly $450 billion in market value, the largest single-day market value increase in stock market history. The driver? Azure AI revenue crossed $100 billion annually. Microsoft is proving that the infrastructure layer (the picks and shovels) is where the real money is. Source.
