Make (formerly Integromat) is a visual automation platform: you build "scenarios" by dragging apps onto a canvas and wiring them together, so data flows between your tools automatically, a form submission becomes a CRM row, a new file triggers an email, an AI step transforms data mid-flow.
It connects thousands of apps, includes routers, filters, and error handling for genuinely complex flows, and runs everything in the cloud on a schedule or a trigger. No code required, though the canvas rewards people who enjoy thinking in flowcharts.
Make.com's appearance in Session 008 was honest to a fault: Alec Saluga named it (alongside n8n, Claude Code, and Codex) as one of the advanced workflow tools you do NOT need to get started. His whole reporting setup, Google Drive connected to Claude, a proposal skill, Plaud webhooking transcripts in, runs on tools everybody already has. That framing is the take: reach for a dedicated automation platform when a workflow needs to run between many apps without you in the loop, not before.
When you do graduate to one, Make sits next to n8n and Zapier in the same decision: Make and Zapier are hosted and easiest to start with, n8n is open source and self-hostable. We have not run a Make build live on a session yet; n8n is the one that has appeared in our own stack.
Operators whose automation needs have outgrown one-click connectors but who do not want to self-host anything. If your workflow spans four or five apps with branching logic, Make's canvas handles it without code. If you are earlier than that, Session 008's advice stands: the tools you already use (Claude with connectors and skills) may cover it.
