What is Replit?

Replit is an online development environment where you write, run, and host code entirely in the browser, with nothing to install. Its AI agent takes a plain-English description of what you want and scaffolds, builds, and deploys a working app for you.

Unlike pure prompt-to-site builders, the real code stays visible and editable in the same workspace, so a project can start as a described idea and grow into something a developer (or your AI agent) keeps working on directly.

How and why we use Replit at AI4NTP

Replit earned its spot here in Session 008, where Alec Saluga named it as one of the interchangeable builders for his rotating-landing-pages play: tell it to make 20 landing page variants, rotate them between visitors, and add an admin panel with per-variant conversion analytics, and it gets you there the same as Lovable, Claude Code, or Codex. We have not run a full live build on it yet.

The takeaway from that session is the prompt, not the tool: the builder set is interchangeable enough that you should pick whichever one you already have an account with and spend your energy on what you ask it for.

Is Replit right for non-technical people?

Replit sits between describe-it builders like Lovable and a real code editor. If you want your AI-built app to live somewhere you can also open and edit the actual code, without installing anything on your computer, it is the natural pick from the builder set named in Session 008.
